How do I copy microSD card

Post by pakuqi on Tue Sep 13, 2011 10:19 am

    Hello. Nice to meet you.

    I bought ODROID-A Last month.
I want to copy the supplied MicroSD card.
    The purpose is backup

ODROID-A should have been provided the source of the Kernel and userland but one part of the functionality is only available in binary.

In case I failed to rewrite the T-Flash, I want to copy the supplied MicroSD card.
And I Wishes to work ODROID-A with copy MicroSD card.

But I do not know how to copy.
    I have a MicroSD Card 8GB.
I have the following tasks on Ubuntu, but copied the MicroSD card was not work.

    1.Copy the original MicroSD Card
mount original MicroSD Card read only.
There are four partitions, system, FAT, cache, data.
    I copied system and FAT

2.create partison on the new MicroSD card
    mount new MicroSD card
    ex $ sudo fdisk /dev/sde
I created four partitions to mimic the original MicroSD card.
I created three Linux partition and one FAT partition.

    3.format
I formatted Linux partitions with EXT4
I formatted FAT partitions with FAT32

    4.Copy Information
The original data has been copied to the new MicroSD Card(system and FAT)

    5.boot with copy MicroSD card
I booted ODROID-A with copy MicroSD card but not work.

Please tell me how you do you copy

    Regards

Don't worry too much. Very Happy

    1. Just backup the schematics.
    2. Other files or contents can be recovered with a recovery tool.

The boot loader and kernel image is not visible because it were not written in partition.
Refer this link to know the MicroSD structure of ODROID-A.
