We are planning to have you 'ODROID-A' board in a custom solution of our own. In this regard, i have some technical questions.

    0. CAN WE MAKE OUR CUSTOMIZED HARDWARE; i mean, is there some valuable hardware design in docs in their package?? [If not, can we have Dev. Board of Odroid A]

    1. Are there [free GPIOs] available in your architecture if we want to add our own hardware. [if so, how many]
    2. Will you give full source code of Android Boot Loader, Kernel and OS/FS. [If so, will all your hardware working in that code?]
    3. How many SERIAL / UART ports are available in 'ODROID-A' other than debug one.

    0. Already many people are making a similar product based on the Odroid--A.
You can find some information about the hardware/software in this link.
    http://dev.odroid.com/projects/odroida/
But, the full schematics are accessible only if you purchase it.

    1. I think there should be 50~60 at least.
    Refer this link.
    http://dev.odroid.com/projects/odroida/

    2. Yes... you can download via this link.
    http://dev.odroid.com/sigong/nf_file_board/nfile_board.php

    3. As I know, there are 4~5 UARTs.
1 is for serial debug, another one is for Bluetooth.
You have at least 2 UARTS for your application.

    Thanks for nice reply.

Still I have a little confusion about the hardware. We need to extend Camera, need custom GPIO ports like in Development boards. and other some ports, like they come in samsung dev. boards.

because OdroiA is designed like a tablet, and we need something else. Dont u have ur Development board of Latest hardware?? we are planning to make things connected to that and give that in production. For that, we'll purchase hardware from odroid, and attach our custom hw to ports and put that in our devices.

    Please guide

Still I don't understand what you need. Sad

Odroid-A is a kind of full featured development board.
It already has 2 cameras built-in as well as 3G HSPA+ connectivity.
    WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS/Battery/Charger are already included.

If you need some more expansion connectors without above rich features,
you may need to buy samsung dev board.
But, samsung dev board is about 4~5 times more expensive than Odroid-A.

How many GPIOs do you need?
How many Cameras do you need?
How many UARTs do you need?

The number of GPIOs, cameras and UARTs are sufficient in ODROID.

The thing i need to ask is about the hardware design, cause im afraid that

    >how will we connect GPIOs, may be 15 to 30 in number.
    >how will we connect addition 2 UARTS.
    >and how will be extend the connectivity strip or connector to the camera. 'in length'

This is the last confusions i have left. and i can not figure them out via the OdroitA board pics.

Is Samsung board for your package? i mean if i want to use development board for OdroidA source code, will it work? Can u give some link to that please

    If i purchase ODROID-A
Will i get the full source code of Android

    Bootlooader
    Kernel
    FS/Android

If yes, which version and will all hardware be working in that?

    like
    - SD
    - Micro-SD USB card reader
    - Aditional Serial ports
    - USB HOST
    - USB OTG / Slave; ADB
    - GSM / 3G
    - GPS
    - Camera
    - Power Management
etc mentioned in the specs on site. Will they all work with the source code ill get with package?

As I know, normal Camera interface signals can't reach over 200mm.
You may need a conversion circuitry for longer wire.

Our Android BSP can't support the USB card reader.
But, you can access it via linux command line of Android.
Power management is not a perfect one. We don't support sleep mode well.

You can find the software version in this link.
    http://www.hardkernel.com/renewal_2011/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G129705660781&tab_idx=2

I already told you where is the BSP source code.

    Hi,Odroid,

I updated Android Image for Odroid many times, but Touch Screen isn't stable yet now.

    Test way:
when we run software 'Pointer Location' in Dev Tools, the touch line isn't sequence when slide finger on screen.

It is problem and difficult to control pinpoint in program like browse or game.

Do you focus on this question and will correct it?

I'd like to install one of these: www-hanvon-com/en/products/components/products/digitizers.html (You'll need to rebuild that URL, new posters...)

    I'll need a Serial Port/UART and 3.3 volts.

I don't have the schematics yet, so I can't check, but do you think this will work? (Assuming I can get the drivers for Linux and Android...)

Oh, and what are the lcd dimensions of the screen in mm?

    Thanks! Smile

LCD dimension should be found in the datasheet.
Datasheet is accessible via this link. (very bottom side)
    http://www.hardkernel.com/renewal_2011/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G129705660781&tab_idx=3

You can find some UARTs on the expansion connector of ODROID-A.
    http://dev.odroid.com/projects/odroida/#s-2.3.2.1
But, they are 1.8 Volt as I remember. So, you may need a level shifter.
Or you can use a USB-UART converter IC.

Actually, I've got a Samsung LTN101AT03 LCD in there instead of the LG panel specified on the web page.

    http://www.panelook.com/LTN101AT03_SAMSUNG_10.1_LCM_parameter_12326.html

Do you have the PDF for this specific model? (Not finding it via Google.)

I'm looking at replacing it with this: http://www.panelook.com/N101BCG-L21_Chimei%20Innolux_10.1_LCM_parameter_12726.html which has a wider viewing angle (~89deg), and IPS!, but a slightly different cable configuration. I'd like to compare the signal timing to see how complicated this might be...

    Thanks! Smile

The Samsung LTN101AT03 is 100% compatible with LG LP101WH1.
Physical dimension and pin-map are exactly same.
